Greatest multiple Olympic medalist

5.00 Ranking created by ivarercool
The Olympics is a huge sporting event on an international level, so big that it has to be divided into several branches. The 2 main branches are the Summer and the Winter Olympics. In those two branches, athletes from all over the world compete in almost 400 events in 35 sports. In the 2008 Summer Olympics and the 2010 Winter Olympics, the total number of athletes competing became 13,837. All of these almost 14,000 competitors have a chance to win a bronze, silver and gold medal. Only the greatest athletes can win medals more than once.

Lots of good selections here, but what of Al Oerter, Steve Redgrave, Naim Suleymanoglu?
